Experienced & Accomplished Faculty

The Sport Management program is currently made up of a Sport Management major, a Sport Coaching minor, and a Sport Management minor. In addition, a robust sport internship/practicum program is being created.

  1. The sport coaching industry is a $15 billion industry in the United States. U.S. based coach
    practitioners make over $60,000 per year. Per the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, there is a 20% growth rate in the sport industry with approximately 245,000 jobs.
  2. The global sports market is expected to grow from $354.96 billion in 2021 to $623.63 billion in 2027 at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 5.0%. 

Based on these statistics, the sport industry offers multiple opportunities for students and is a growth industry for numerous jobs in sport related fields.

The learning objectives for the sport management major are:

  1. Students should be able to demonstrate conceptual knowledge of the various functional areas of business.
  2. Students should be able to carry out problem analysis, synthesis, and evaluation utilizing the appropriate techniques, technical applications, and principles to develop business plans and solutions.
